With the advanced Chip with A14 Bionic, Apple just recently unveils the all-new iPad Air 2020. The strongest iPad Air ever has a new All-screen design with a 10.9-inch larger display, a new 12MP rear camera, Touch ID, and more.
The new 2020 iPad Air 4 is now in five beautiful finishes and is designed with a larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, an upgrade to the camera and audio, a new built-in Touch ID sensor on top, the most powerful and capable iPad Air ever.
“Today we’re excited to introduce a completely redesigned and far more powerful iPad Air, debuting Apple’s most powerful chip ever made, the A14 Bionic,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With its gorgeous new all-screen design, larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, next-generation Touch ID, and a massive boost in performance with A14 Bionic, the new iPad Air brings customers powerful pro features at an even more affordable price. Along with major upgrades to the iPad Pro and eighth-generation iPad this year, and the powerful new features of iPadOS 14, this is our strongest iPad lineup ever, giving our customers even more ways to enrich their daily lives.”
A Touch ID sensor of next-generation is integrated into the top button to allow the display to expand across all sides, providing a quick, simple, safe way to unlock the iPad Air, log in to apps and make use of the Apple Pay that customers love and know about. IPad is compatible with the floating Magic Keyboard, the integrated trackpad, the Smart Keyboard Folio, and the new Smart Folio cover, as well as the Apple Pencil, which magnetically attaches to the sides for easy pairing, charging, and storage.
With Apple’s most advanced chip, A14 Bionic, the iPad Air provides a massive increase in performance. The A14 Bionic even handles the most demanding apps, making editing 4 K videos even easier, creating beautiful works of art, playing immersive games, etc. A14 Bionic is packed in almost every chip with 11.8 trillion transistors using advanced five-nanometer process technology to improve performance and power efficiency.
A14 Bionic has an additional 16-core neural engine twice as fast and can perform up to 11 trillion operations per second and use the LED’s latest generation A-series chip with a novel 6-core design that boosts the CPU’s performance by 40 percent and a new 4-core graphics architecture for a 30 percent improvement in graphics. A14 Bionic also includes machine learning accelerators of the second generation in the CPU for 10 times faster calculations for machine learning. This combination of the new neural engine, CPU machinery, and high-performance GPU allows powerful on-site image recognition experience, natural language learning, movement analysis, and more.
The iPad Air features the same 12MP rear-view camera used on iPad Pro for higher resolution photos and 4 K video capture, including a FaceTime HD 7MP front-facing device. The new iPad Air design features landscape stereo speakers that increase the audio feel to allow users to enjoy broader stereo sounds while watching the video.
iPad Air now has a USB-C port for data transfer of up to 5 Gbps, 10 times faster 2 for cameras, hard drives, and external monitors of up to 4K. This is by far the most powerful iPad Air with Wi-Fi 6 performance and 60 percent fast LTE access3 with A14 Bionic.
iPadOS 14 also integrates Apple Pencil into the iPad experience to improve handwritten notes and note-taking capabilities. When you note your iPad, the Smart Selection system uses handwriting on your device to differentiate between drawings, so you can select, cut and paste hand-written texts into another document with the same familiar gestures as typewritten text. The form recognition allows users, when adding diagrams and images in notes, to draw shapes that are geometrically perfect and snap straightaway. Hand-written text, phone numbers, dates, addresses, links, and data detectors work seamlessly, making it easy for users to take actions such as touching a handwritten number in order to make a call.
iPadOS 14 can provide Scribble to iPad, allowing Apple Pencil users to handwrite in any text field directly, performing actions such as fast and easy iMessages response or searching in Safari-all without Apple Pencil ever removing it.
Scribble uses a device-based machine, which learns to convert handwriting in the in-store text in real-time.
iPadOS 14 further distinguishes and strengthens the iPad experience, including:
- New compact designs, to help users stay focused on the job and receiving FaceTime and phone calls, Siri interactions, and search.
- Universal search, from find and launch applications to access contacts, files, and data, to get answers to common people or places questions.
- New sidebars for many applications such as photos and files and streamlined toolbars, which can be used to consolidate controls into one place.
- Wonders that present information on time right at a glance on the home screen is beautifully redesigned.
The new iPad Air is designed to make the Apple plan to become carbon neutral by 2030. On its main logic board, the iPad Air uses 100 % recycled aluminum and 100% recycled solder tin. The new iPad Air speakers also use 100 % recycled rare earth elements with magnets. iPad Air remains harmless, highly energy-efficient, and uses recycled or responsible forest-managed wood fiber packaging.
iPad Air is part of the powerful iPad Pro, the 8th iPad, and the mini iPad, to form the most advanced iPad lineup in history. The iPad is a solution for everybody with the support of Apple Pencil, top performance, state-of-the-art displays, and the daily battery life, whether customer priority for portability, power, or cost.
