I don’t recommend switching from iPhone to anyone. I still think Apple is making the best phone on the market, but I know people are starting to think about leaving the Apple ecosystem to see if the grass on the other side of the fence is greener. If you’re considering Android, the Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL is my personal choice for switching.

I’ve always been a Pixel phone fan, and this year, Google seems to be getting much closer to becoming a serious iPhone competitor. It still has some problems (such as painfully short battery life) but some of its best features, such as Night Sight, are considered to some people even better than the iPhone. It has some crazy new technology that will only become more impressive over time and, frankly, may end up in future iPhones. For example, Quick Gestures allow you to do things like skip songs and silence alarms simply by waving your hand over the screen. Literal screen with no-touch.
So, I think the Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL is the best transition phone for anyone leaving the Apple ecosystem if you’re considering jumping ship (no judgment, you’re doing it). The price is definitely more justifiable to take a risk at $200 off.
